Lynn Anderson 16 BIGGEST HITS
Lynn Anderson 16 BIGGEST HITS
Recording information: Nashville, TN (??/??/1966-03/18/1974).
Photographer: Al Clayton.
Arranger: Cam Mullins.
Countrypolitan singer Lynn Anderson achieved notable chart success in the late 1960s and early '70s. Like Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn, Anderson was a product of Nashville, yet her music is less roots-oriented than either artist, contributing to the crossover appeal of her sound.
Anderson is best known for her infectious smash hit "Rose Garden" and her cover of the Carpenters' "Top of the World," both of which are featured here. Anderson, however, was also a top-notch songwriter herself, and 16 BIGGEST HITS has some of her best, including "Flattery Will Get You Everywhere" and "If I Kiss You (Will You Go Away)." In all, this is an excellent one-stop purchase for fans looking for either a summation of or an introduction to one of Music Row's first pop stars.
