Taylor Dayne was a gifted journeyman pop singer who worked with a variety of rock bands before she scored a record deal with Arista in 1988 and cut "Tell It to My Heart," an immediate hit that turned her into a leading dance diva overnight. Dayne would cut three albums for Arista -- 1988's Tell It to My Heart, 1989's Can't Fight Fate, and 1992's Soul Dancing -- before she put music on hold to pursue an acting career. Playlist: The Very Best of Taylor Dayne collects highlights from Dayne's three albums for Arista, with several hits (including "Tell It to My Heart," "With Every Beat of My Heart," and "Can't Get Your Love") appearing in rare single mixes and dance versions.
