"Weird Al" Yankovic | In 3-D (CD)
"Weird Al" Yankovic In 3-D, sometimes referred to simply as ''In 3-D'', is the second album by parody musician "Weird Al" Yankovic, released in 1984. It features the Michael Jackson parody "Eat It" which made Yankovic internationally famous. It is notable for the first of Yankovic's polka medleys; these pastiches of hit songs, set to polka music, have since appeared on nearly all of Yankovic's albums to date. This album also marked a musical departure from his self-titled debut: the arrangements of the parodies were now closer to the originals and the accordion was no longer used in every song, now only being featured where deemed appropriate or wholly inappropriate for comedic effect.
''In 3-D'' is one of the most successful studio releases by "Weird Al" Yankovic. In 1995, the album was certified Platinum. The album's first single, "Eat It," won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording in 1985.
